Shimano Di2 E-Tube SM-BCR2 Battery Charger — Charge and Configure Your Di2 System
The Shimano SM-BCR2 is the dedicated charger for Di2 internal batteries, including the BT-DN110 and SM-BTR2 models found in seatpost and downtube configurations on 11-speed Dura-Ace (9070/9150), Ultegra (6770/6870/8050/8070), and Alfine Di2 systems. It connects to the battery's charging port or junction box and draws power from any USB-A source — a laptop, wall adapter, or portable battery bank — charging a depleted battery in approximately 1.5 hours, with an LED indicator confirming status and full charge. Note: this charger is not compatible with the wireless BT-DN300 battery used in 12-speed R9200 Dura-Ace, R8100 Ultegra, and XTR M9250 systems, which require the EW-EC300 adapter instead.
Beyond charging, the SM-BCR2 doubles as the PC linkage device for Shimano's E-Tube Project software on Windows. Plugging it into a computer unlocks firmware updates across all connected Di2 components, shift button remapping, multi-shift speed adjustment, and system diagnostics — functionality that would otherwise require a professional service visit.
